갤러리 마쩨는 1979년 개관한 국제적으로 그 지명도가 높은 현대장신구 전문 갤러리이다. 매년 8월부터 10월까지 열리는 마쩨 국제졸업전시회는 갤러리의 중요 일정으로서 새로운 세대의 작품들을 널리 알리고 대중들과의 소통을 목표로 하고 있다.
1986년 네덜란드 주요대학으로 구성된 소규모의 전시로 시작되어 1995년 이후 국제적인 규모로 확대하여 1995년 이후 국제적인 규모로 확대하여 현재 4-50여 곳, 세계 곳곳의 미술대학 100여명의 젊은 작가의 선정된 작품들을 매년 전시하고 있다. 매년 약 10여명의 우수작품들을 선정하여 Marzee Prize를 수여하고 있다. 올해는 전 세계 32개 미술대학 70여명이 초대되었다.
“Each year, we are amazed by the diverse range and new developments in contemporary jewellery around the world.
This year, it is striking that many graduates abstract more from personal observations and experiences and arrive at the more universal themes. Political, religious and moral dilemmas and excesses are regularly denounced but more often lead to the heart of the problem through their more indirect abstract approach. It forces you to take a more in-depth look at the work, if you are willing to see it at all, to find their sometimes hidden messages. The different cultural and personal backgrounds of the graduates makes for diverse reflections on dilemmas. Of course, this does not mean that all the work on show has moral connotations. 국민대학교 금속공예학과도 2007년부터 매년 졸업생 3-5명이 초대되어 출품해왔다. 2023년에도 임제운, 홍예인 출품했다. 2021 Marzee Graduate Prize 수상자 최혜영, 2022 유아미에 이어 올해도 세계 각 대학의 수상자 10명과 함께 임제운 동문이 Marzee Graduate Prize를 수상했다.
